Ivica Puljak

Mayor Puljak was born in 1969 in Split. In 1994, he graduated with a Bachelor’s  degree in electrical engineering from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering,  Mechanical Engineering and Naval Architecture in Split. He obtained his Master’s  degree in particle physics from Zagreb in 1997. In 2000, he earned a PhD at the Pierre  and Marie Curie University in Paris. Apart from taking part in nuclear physics  research, Puljak taught at Split University. He is also known for his promotion of  popular science. Prior to assuming office, Puljak worked as a professor. Puljak has  been the Mayor of Split since 2021.
