Blerim Bexheti was born on October 16, 1976, in the village of Gllumovë, in the municipality of Saraj. He graduated in law from the University of Pristina. In addition to the Albanian language, he speaks Macedonian, Croatian, and Czech. From 2002 to 2005, he was a senior associate in the Ministry of Justice, and from 2005 to 2006, he opened an office for lawyers. In 2006, he was elected as a Member of Parliament in the Republic of North Macedonia and has been a member of the Legislative-juridical Committee, as well as the Committee for the Supervision of the work of the Security and Counterintelligence Directorate and the Intelligence Agency. In 2008, he was re-elected as a deputy in the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia in Vriu and served as the chairman of the Local Self-Government Commission. He also served as the deputy chairman of the RMV Assembly Delegation in the Parliamentary Committee for Stabilization and Association and as a deputy member of the Commission for European Affairs. In the local elections in 2009, he was elected mayor of the municipality of Saraj, concurrently becoming a member of the management board of ZEVL. In 2011, he was appointed Minister of Justice in the Government of the Republic of North Macedonia, a position he held until 2014. In the local elections 2017, he was re-elected as the mayor of the Municipality of Saraj for the second time. Also, in 2021, he was elected mayor of the Municipality of Saraj for the term 2021-2025.
