Xenofon Verginis

Xenofontas Verginis was born in the village of Tsoukalades on the island of Lefkada. He completed his undergraduate studies in Economics at Lancaster University and earned a PhD in Economics from the University of Athens.

He lectured in economics for many years at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. In public service and politics, he has served as a Member of Parliament for Lefkada, Mayor of Lefkada (Kalamos–Kastos), and held various senior positions in public administration. Within the New Democracy Party, he undertook responsibilities in the fields of agriculture, economic policy, and European Union affairs.

He currently serves as Chairman of the Board of Directors of Eurofood Quality SA, Advisor to the CEO, and Vice President of the Hellenic–Turkish Chamber of Commerce. He is the author of numerous publications on economics, agricultural policy, and European Union affairs
