Galati

Galati is the capital of Galati County in Eastern Romania with a population of 217.851 people. Galati is the 8th largest city in Romania by population. City is located on the Danube river the most important European commerical river artery. Galati is one of the economic and trading centers of Romania due to the presence of the Naval Shipyard, Galati River Port and the largest steel factory in Romaia. City was highly damaged after the World War II and got reconstructed. City is also a part of strategically important Focsani Gate. It is a member of the B40 Balkan Cities Network.
