It lies in a valley surrounded by mountains. Roots of Podgorica dates back to Roman times when it was known as Doclea. Podgorica has undergone significant urban development in recent years, with modern buildings and infrastructure. The city is the economic hub of Montenegro, with a focus on trade, finance, and services. It hosts various businesses, government institutions, and international organizations.
