Podgorica

Podgorica is the capital city of Montenegro. It became the capital of Montenegro in 1946 when it was still a part of Yugoslavia. It is also the largest city of Montenegro with a population of 209.968 people. City is located in the southern part of Montenegro, near the confluence of the Ribnica and Moraca rivers. It lies in a valley surrounded by mountains. Roots of Podgorica dates back to Roman times when it was known as Doclea. Podgorica has undergone significant urban development in recent years, with modern buildings and infrastructure. The city is the economic hub of Montenegro, with a focus on trade, finance, and services. It hosts various businesses, government institutions, and international organizations. Podgorica is a founding member of B40 Balkan Cities Network.
