Tomislav Šuta
Mayor Šuta was born on 7 September 1982 in Split. He is married and has three children. He earned a degree in Economics, with a specialization in Finance, from the Faculty of Economics in Split, completing his studies between 2001 and 2006, following his graduation from the 4th Marko Marulić High School in Split. He began his professional career at the Ministry of Finance, where he served from 2006 to 2014. He subsequently held senior executive positions, including Director of the Regional Clean Environment Centre Ltd. from 2014 to 2018. In 2023, he was elected to the Split City Council and concurrently served as a member of the Management Board of the Financial Affairs Office until 2024. In 2024, he was elected as a Member of the Croatian Parliament. Mr. Šuta has been actively engaged in political life as a member of the Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ) since 2002, holding various leadership roles within the party. He has served as President of the HDZ Split City Office since 2022 and became a member of the HDZ National Management Board in 2024. Since 2024, he has been a member of the Finance and State Budget Committee, the Environment and Nature Protection Committee, and the Maritime Affairs, Transport and Infrastructure Committee of the Croatian Parliament. In 2010, he successfully passed the forensic accounting (RRIF) examination administered by the Ministry of Finance. In 2025, Tomislav Šuta was elected Mayor of the City of Split, assuming responsibility for guiding the city’s strategic development, public administration, and sustainable urban governance. His personal interests include tennis, table tennis, and football.
