B40 President Erion Veliaj paid a working visit to Sarajevo, the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina, on June 28, 2024, Mr. Veliaj was accompanied by Barbaros Büyüksağnak, the B40 Permanent Secretary.

During his visit, President Veliaj held significant meetings with Benjamina Karic, Mayor of Sarajevo  and Edin Forto, Minister of Communications and Traffic of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The discussions with Mayor Karic in Sarajevo City Hall, were also attended by the President of Sarajevo City Council Jasmin Ademović and Deputy Mayor Anja Margetić Stakić.

The meetings covered a range of important topics, including B40’s planned activities and objectives for 2024 and the details of the upcoming B40 Summit scheduled to be held in Sarajevo next year. Identification of potential areas of co-operation in order to strengthen the ties between the cities was also discussed at the meeting.

This visit highlights the ongoing efforts within the B40 framework to build stronger international relations and promote city diplomacy.
