Zijad Lugavić
Mayor Lugavić was born on 15 October 1973 in Tuzla. He graduated from the Faculty of Economics at the University of Tuzla, where he also completed his master’s degree, and in 2020 earned a PhD in Economics and Business, specializing in Digital Economy. From 1993 to 1995, he served in the Army of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina. He began his professional career as an interpreter for international organizations and later held senior management positions in both the private and public sectors.
His career includes serving as a Director at Mercator BH, Director of the Tušanj City Stadium Public Institution, and Deputy Mayor of the City of Tuzla. Alongside his administrative career, he has been active in academia, teaching at universities and authoring numerous scientific publications. Mayor Lugavić is a member of the Social Democratic Party of Bosnia and Herzegovina (SDP BiH) and continues to work toward the economic and social development of the City of Tuzla.
