Vasilios Tsiakos

Mayor Vasilios was born in 1966 in Karditsa. With a background in education, Vasilios actively participated in student movements during his youth. He engaged in trade union affairs as an elected member of PYSPE and IOE, advocating for educators’ rights. From 2010 to 2019, he served as deputy governor of Karditsa, contributing to the new institutional framework of Kallikratis. In 2019, Vasilios became the mayoral candidate for Karditsa and assumed leadership of the municipality on September 1, 2019. His tenure is marked by a dedication to community welfare and educational issues.
