Flamur Golemi
Flamur Golemi was born on 11 April 1976 in Gjirokastër, Albania. He holds Albanian nationality and currently resides in Gjirokastër. He completed his secondary education at “Janaq Kilica” High School in Fier (1990-1994) and pursued his medical studies at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Tirana, graduating in General Medicine (1996-2002). From 2004 to 2008, he specialized as an Ophthalmologist at the University Hospital Center of Tirana (QSUT).
Throughout his career, Golemi has participated in various international training programs and conferences, including sessions on glaucoma in Prague (2008) and congresses in Chicago, Athens, Milan, Geneva, Amsterdam, and Ohrid. His professional experience includes serving as a General Practitioner at the Public Health Directorate in Gjirokastër (2002-2003), a Coordinator at the APRAD Center in Tirana (2003), and an Ophthalmologist at both the Regional Hospital of Gjirokastër and Athens Eye Hospital (since 2008).
In addition, he has held leadership roles, such as Director of the Regional Health Directorate in Gjirokastër (2013-2016) and Deputy in the IX Legislature of the Albanian Parliament (2017-2019). Fluent in English and proficient in Italian, Golemi combines his medical expertise with a strong commitment to public service.
